Andrew Howe

Non sono solo, nel mio percorso di recupero (e così sempre, nei momenti ok e in quelli più grigi), con me e con mia madre c’è una squadra di persone in gamba alle quali ci legano rapporti di stima profonda e di amicizia.
Di loro vi ho già parlato, e ne torno a parlare perchè il lavoro che svolgono va sottolineato.
Queste foto sono state scattate ieri durante i test di forza dei quali vi ho parlato al mattino.
Nella prima fotografia, assieme a mamma Renè e alla sua penna (la Montblanc dalla quale non si stacca mai e scrive, scrive scrive…il pc lo usa poco, dice di preferire il tocco umano) c’è il professor Claudio Mazzuffo, tecnico Fidal per la specialità del salto in lungo. Lui è un grande amico, oltre ad essere un grande esperto…il suo gesto della foto è molto rassicurante.
Nella seconda immagine, oltre al professor Mazzuffo e a me, ci sono il professor Nicola Silvaggi e Carmelo La Cava… siamo tutti insieme al lavoro, per un obiettivo comune ed io mi sento bene e i test dicono che sono forte!
BUONA GIORNATA A NOI

Vi presento lo staff…praticamente una famiglia, composta da persone che mi sono sempre state vicine. Quando ero al punto più basso, nel 2003, in seguito ad una frattura da stress, quello dell’Aeronautica è stato l’unico gruppo militare ad aprire le porte a me e alla mia madre-allenatrice. Il maresciallo Fabrizio Leoni, non ha mai perso la fiducia in noi. Lui è il direttore tecnico del Centro sportivo dell’Aeronautica, il responsabile di tutti gli atleti che in tutte le discipline sportive rappresentano l’Aereonautica italiana.

Affianco il professor Claudio Mazzuffo, coordinatore tecnico del team e specialista tecnico di salto in lungo e triplo.

Al centro c’è mamma-coach, ormai la conoscete … lei ha un milione di cose di cui occuparsi, con grande energia fa “il” tecnico, l’allenatore, il terapista, l’aiuto manager, lo psicologo  …etc etc

QUALCHE PARTICOLARE.

Il professor Claudio Mazzuffo mi segue da quando avevo 15 anni, ed è stato responsabile tecnico FIDAL per il salto in lungo … E’ come un fratello maggiore per mia madre, legati da un rapporto di rispetto e stima  … Una volta durante le sessioni di allenamento, osservando lo stile “americano” di mia madre, il prof. aggrottava le sopracciglia, ma poi hanno iniziato comprendersi e prendere l’uno dall’altro ciò che è utile allo scopo…

Carmelo La Cava è con me dal 2003, come collaboratore di mia madre presso il Centro Sportivo .. lo vedo tutti i giorni. Anche lui è stato un grande sostegno, collabora nella Sala pesi, sulla pista … Mia madre dice che è il suo occhio sinistro, perchè le cose da OSSERVARE sono davvero tante, inoltre è un mago col computer per i test muscolari e con tutti quegli strumenti tecnici che usiamo per misurare le prestazioni.   E’ stato il fidanzato di mia madre per 6 anni .. e anche se non sono insieme è ancora il suo migliore amico. Lui c’è sempre, anche per il mio fratellino Jeremy.

Questa è la mia squadra, una macchina che funziona come un altoforno ma composta da persone legate dalla stima e dal rispetto reciproco. E poi capita anche ci si diverta e questo è importante …Abbiamo passato un periodo difficile…ma

PER I MIEI AMICI FROM USA

Here we are the MOD SQUAD…that was the name of a COOL police team from a TV program of the 70′s my Mom used to tell me about…Their greatest force was when they were united..

From Left to Right:  Carmelo LaCava – Weight Training/Tech assistant…… Prof. Claudio Mazzuffo -Technical Team Coordinator/Specialist Long & Triple Jump Technics. ….Head Coach Mom – She does a million and one things Sprint/Technical coach…Therapist/recovery work..competition manager…. psychologist……MOM….etc…you get the picture…and we have this team to coordinate all work together.ML. Fabrizio Leoni -Sports Director – Centro Sportivo Aeronautica-  responbile for all athletes in all Sports disciplines that represent Aeronautica.

A Coach has a very hard Job…and a Single Mom/Coach has even more..I am lucky to have her as a Mom… admire her strengths…and she not only Coaches me from scientific knowledge..BUT from personal experiences as a Hurdler at the top level back in the early 80′s….

When the world and all problems were aganist me and Mom…these men stood loyal.  Through all the bad..when I was at my lowest point and a stress fracture back in 2003 AERONAUTICA was the only Military groupwith their doors open for me and my MOM/Coach… ML Fabrizio Leoni never lost hope and faith in us….

Prof. Claudio Mazzuffo has been with me since I was 15 years as he was FIDAL Technical responsible for the Long Jumping events…he is like a BIg Brother to Coach Mom, and has the highest esteem and espect for her…and when the attack came, He always defended her…At training sessions sometimes Coach Mom’s Amereican Style of Coaching would raise eyebrows, but then they began to learn from each other..

Carmelo LaCava has been by my side since 2003 as Coach Mom’s daily collaborator here at Centro Sportivo..He and Mom see me everyday. He too has been a great support since we met in 2003 He collaborates In the Weight room, on the track..  Coach Mom often called him her “left eye”  He would see things when she had to observe tooo many things at the same time… He is the mechanical  instrumental part.   for example Coach Mom writes down everything…She doesn’t like computers..Carmelo is very good at computer associated with Muscle testing, and other technical instruments we use in measuring performance. He always like to challenge Coach Mom’s American Style and theories of Coaching..He was mom’s boyfriend for 6 years..and even though they are not together,  He has still remained Mom’s BEST friend in the world. And is always there for my little brother Jeremy.

and with such a team we have a blast(FUN)  on the track…we have passed a difficult period…but
